Turban trend!
We have seen a wide variety of fashion headgear of late and it's now time for the turban to make its comeback! Prada relaunched the turban back in 2007, but it wasn't until last year that it really came to the attention of the masses.
Trend icons such as Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Kate Moss and celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe are just some of the celebs now sporting turbans. And we can see why: turbans are attractive, simple and cool – and the perfect solution to a bad hair day.
The simplest way to create a turban is to wind a scarf round your head. It can be tied in several different ways, but here is the simplest method:
1. Form a triangle from the scarf and roll it up.
2. Position the scarf at the back of your head with the ends round in front of your forehead.
3. Cross the ends just below the hairline and take them round to the back of your head again.
3. Knot the ends at the back of your head and tuck them in under the edges.
4. You can now decide whether you want to cover the whole of your head or not; if so, simply draw the sides carefully up over your head and tuck them down on the opposite side.
Styling tips: Pin a brooch to one side for a touch of extra glamour or go for a turban that also embraces another major trend: bold colours and striking African motifs.
Here at Glitter you will find plenty of scarves to keep you cool in the hot spring sun!
